Android Apps Make Its Place in BlackBerry World

ByBlackBerry, one of the leading Canadian mobile phone makers, is soon allowing Android applications to be downloaded through its official BlackBerry World portal. This decision has already been confirmed officially as BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 already has expanded support for Android apps. In November 2013, an update is announced by BlackBerry to its SDK with an improved Android runtime packed inside that increase possibility of developing more application for Google’s platform to run on its own mobile Operating System.

“Android apps that use shared libraries written in native-code, such as C and C++, will now be supported on BlackBerry 10,” the Canadian vendor announced at the time. BlackBerry 10.2.1 SDK OS, the latest version has brought the new Android runtime to developer smartphones that enables app builders to check their created software for supportability with the latest release. Generally, through this feature, one can easily able to install android applications (apk) files on their smartphone. Things you can found is download source for these applications.

Actually, BlackBerry is getting ready for accumulating of Android software in the aforesaid BlackBerry World portal with an aim to allow users to access more content from their handsets, according to a recent article on Good e-Reader. It is also claimed by news site that BlackBerry has moved toward game publishers to decide to release their titles through its portal. Now onwards, developers just have to submit descriptions and screenshots in order to list our software in the BlackBerry World. That simply means, no more efforts are required to submit app.

On other side, users can easily download and install any applications, no matter what type of content built on their device. It seems that BlackBerry Q5, Q10, Z10, and Z30 will able to run Android applications. However, no accurate information is available about the OS upgrade. Check out for custom Android Apps.

BBM FOR NOKIA LUMIA PHONES COMING SOON

BBM For Nokia Coming Soon
You know most atimes I kept
wondering why will BBM
intelligently bypass window phone like
Lumia to supports
Android and iPhone operating system.
And I just can’t find
the best answers to that question.
I was surfing the net a while ago and
I discovered some group
of passionate developers are already
working hard to lunch
BBM for Window8 phones. BBM for
windows phone 8 devices is
already rumoured and is in progress
according to the report
from some hidden BlackBerry’s
officials.
According to the report, Nokia Lumia
520, Lumia 620, Lumia
625, Lumia 720, Lumia 820, Lumia
920, Lumia 1020 and all
Nokia and HTC devices running the
Windows Phone 8 (WP8)
platform will be getting the update
early from those devices
running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango
like Nokia Lumia 510, Lumia
610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and the
Lumia 900.
Well, I really hope to see this coming
to pass soonest if
actually they are working on it.
Though BlackBerry took a long
time to confirm the BBM app for
Android and iOS so its
obvious that they will take some more
time to confirm the
BBM app for windows phone platform.
In other words, there is hope for Nokia
users. Let’s wait and
see what next.

Android 4.4.2 Kitkat arrives on Google Nexus devices

Rolling out to the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10
SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Google has pushed out Android 4.4.2 Kitkat to its line of Nexus devices, despite having released Android 4.4.1 Kitkat just a few days ago.
Android 4.4.2 Kitkat reportedly has started appearing on the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 devices, but we'd advise not getting too excited about the update yet.
According to the changelog, the update to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat delivers a fix for clearing the VM Indicator, a fix for delivery of the VM Indicator and various additional software fixes and security enhancements.
This uninspiring list could be because the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update reportedly arrives as a replacement for the Android 4.4.1 Kitkat update that Google put out on Friday. According to the US Sprint network forums, Google might have pulled the previous update, fixed some of the bugs and relaunched it.
That means that Nexus 5 users who have yet to update to Android 4.4.1 Kitkat are likely to welcome the software bump, as Google said that the update will fix issues with the Nexus 5's 8MP rear-facing camera, with users previously having reported problems with shutter lag and focus.
Whether or not it's a replacement update, Android 4.4.2 Kitkat should improve the camera with "faster focusing, especially in low light, faster white balancing, for truer colors, the ability to pinch-zoom the viewfinder in HDR+ mode and less shutter lag". The updated high dynamic range (HDR+) mode also has a new burst mode.
Google has yet to offer more details on the update. µ

BlackBerry says BBM for Android and iOS is coming today, but there's a wait list

8
inShare

BlackBerry has announced that BlackBerry Messenger will be released today for Android and iOS. The company originally planned to release its messaging app late last month, but those plans were abruptly pushed back when an early version of the Android app publicly leaked ahead of schedule. The company says that "about 1 million" Android users were using the unreleased version of BBM for Android, and BlackBerry is also claiming that more than 1 million iOS users managed to "side load" the app onto iPhone. "In the next few hours, people will start seeing BBM in Google Play, the App Store and in select Samsung App Stores," the company says.

But unfortunately it appears that BlackBerry is still very much concerned about an initial surge of users. It's implementing a registration wait list; upon opening the app, you'll have to enter an email

iPhone vs. Android vs. BlackBerry vs. Windows Phone: Which phone should you get? Discover here

2013 iPhone buyers guide: How to choose between the iPhone and other phones, including Samsung Galaxy, HTC One, Moto X, Nexus, Nokia Lumia, BlackBerry, and more!

Apple has released the brand new, top-of-the-line, flagship iPhone 5s and less-expensive, colorfully fun iPhone 5c. But is either of them the right phone for you? While everyone here at iMore certainly believes the iPhone is still the best phone for most people, most of the time, we're lucky that every major platform now has one or more great phones for us to choose from as well. The iPhone may have the best overall user experience, the highest quality apps and games, the widest range of services, the biggest selection of accessories, and the best customer support, but there are also things the iPhone doesn't offer that other phones do, like much larger screens, physical keyboards, high power cameras, greater hardware options, or simply no Apple about them. How do you know which one is for you? Keep reading!

Here's how GOOGLE PLAY messed up BBM for ANDROID launch

Despite all the negative news from BlackBerry, the BBM launch on Android was supposed to be one of the big happenings in the tech world on 21 September. At 12:00 AM EST (4:30 PM IST), BBM was supposed to go live on the official Android app store, Google Play. At the time of writing, 17 hours after the deadline, the official BBM has not yet appeared on Google Play. What did appear were tens of fake apps, some purportedly coming from developers like BlackBerry Inc, etc. On BlackBerry fan sites like Crackberry.com, chat rooms were choked with thousands of users venting their frustration. To make things worse, as New Zealand moved from 21 September to 22 September at 12:00 AM, BBM dropped on to the Apple App Store there. Then a bit later on to the App Stores in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, India and so on.
