Motorola launches Moto G Grip Shell cases

Motorola has launched five Grip Shell cases for the affordable Moto G. Available
in royal blue, lemon lime, chalk, black and cherry, the cases are certainly going
to get the phone noticed.
The accessory costs $19.99 and is sold directly from Motorola via their website.
It’s ruggedized and snaps directly on the back of the Moto G as a replacement
for the phone back cover.
We’re not sure if they’re going to protect your Moto G against drops and the
elements as good as a complete case, but they don’t waste as much time and
sure look cool. The royal blue is most certainly to catch the eye. The good
thing is that they’re easy to swap and their pricing means you can take a

Android Apps Make Its Place in BlackBerry World

ByBlackBerry, one of the leading Canadian mobile phone makers, is soon allowing Android applications to be downloaded through its official BlackBerry World portal. This decision has already been confirmed officially as BlackBerry OS 10.2.1 already has expanded support for Android apps. In November 2013, an update is announced by BlackBerry to its SDK with an improved Android runtime packed inside that increase possibility of developing more application for Google’s platform to run on its own mobile Operating System.

“Android apps that use shared libraries written in native-code, such as C and C++, will now be supported on BlackBerry 10,” the Canadian vendor announced at the time. BlackBerry 10.2.1 SDK OS, the latest version has brought the new Android runtime to developer smartphones that enables app builders to check their created software for supportability with the latest release. Generally, through this feature, one can easily able to install android applications (apk) files on their smartphone. Things you can found is download source for these applications.

Actually, BlackBerry is getting ready for accumulating of Android software in the aforesaid BlackBerry World portal with an aim to allow users to access more content from their handsets, according to a recent article on Good e-Reader. It is also claimed by news site that BlackBerry has moved toward game publishers to decide to release their titles through its portal. Now onwards, developers just have to submit descriptions and screenshots in order to list our software in the BlackBerry World. That simply means, no more efforts are required to submit app.

On other side, users can easily download and install any applications, no matter what type of content built on their device. It seems that BlackBerry Q5, Q10, Z10, and Z30 will able to run Android applications. However, no accurate information is available about the OS upgrade. Check out for custom Android Apps.

FACTS TO CONSIDER BEFORE ROOTING YOUR ANDROID PHONE :- THE ADVANTAGE AND DISADVANTAGES OF ROOTING

What is "Rooting?"

The Android phone that you have learned to love and enjoy is running an
operating system that was designed for commercial and private use. Like most
any operating system, several features have been disabled, either for future use
or to prevent the casual user from causing permanent damage to the operating
system. "Rooting" is the process in which the limitations are removed and full-
access is allowed. Once rooted, the Android phone owner will have more control
over many settings, features and performance of their phone. Basically,
"rooting" means to get to the root of the operating system and to have the
ability to make global changes.

Disadvantages

There are two main disadvantages to rooting an Android phone;
Other potential disadvantages, though less severe, are still worthy of
consideration;

1. Rooting immediately voids your phone's warranty-Once rooted, don't try to
bring your phone back for service or warranty work. You are on your own!

2. Rooting involves the risk of "bricking" your phone- In essence, a "bricked"
phone is no better than carrying around a brick in your pocket. The phone is
dead when it has been "bricked."

3. Poor performanc e-Though the intention of "rooting" a phone is to give the
phone more performance, several users have found that, in their attempts to
speed up the phone or add additional features, that their phones lost both
performance speed and features. Remember that when you "root" your
Android phone, you are making changes to the stock operating system.

4. Viruses-Yes, even phones can get viruses. A common practice that people do
with "rooted" phones is to flash their ROM's with custom programs.
Whenever you make changes to the code of a software, you run the risk of
introducing a virus.

Advantages

1. Running special application like s-Superuser is an app that can only be run on a
rooted Android phone. This allows you to control which apps have access to
the "root" system. Another popular application that "rooting" affords is the
ability to tether a computer to your Android phone so that the computer can
access the Internet using the phone's data connection. Another program can
allow your Android to be used as a WiFi Hotspot without having to pay your
provider for the feature.

2. Freeing up memory-When you install an app on your phone, it is stored on
the phone's memory. "Rooting" allows you to move installed applications to
your SD card, thus freeing up system memory for additional files or apps.

3. Custom ROM's -This is the most powerful feature of "rooted" phones. There
are hundreds of custom ROM's that can do anything from speeding up the
processing speed of your phone to changing the entire look and feel of your android phone.

Why this post is not aimed at preventing you form rooting your phone it is purely aimed at making you see (the dark and light side)...lol of rooting your android phone might make you want to reconsider

Good luck........

HOW TO TURN ON COOKIES ON ANDROID PHONE: THE COMPLETE DISCUSSION

In this article we will tell you how to turn on cookies on Android
phone and what we mean by cookies.

Here’s the complete discussion:

Technically cookies are messages transmitted to the web browser
from the web server. It stores the messages/information in a text
file. After which whenever the user requests for the same page,
the browser sends the request to the server and gets back the
response. The primary purpose of cookies is to customize web
pages according to the user requirement. For instance if the user
has already set a custom setting for a page then every time he
opens the page, the browser should identify the user and open the
site according to the instructions stored already. Whenever you
are entering the site with the help of the cookies, you are asked to
fill out some questions (also known as forms) which contain some
very basic information like name, occupation, interests etc.
Cookies essentially use the same information to identify the end
user.
A cookie allows you to read and save the cookie data from the
Android browser which is set by default or from the chrome
browser. Standard users can handle cookie behaviour and modify
the way information is stored on the cookies. Some of the steps
which need to be taken care while activating cookies on the
Android phones are-

To begin with, Fire the android/phone browser.

Ensure no idlebackground apps are running,

“Menu” button on your handset. By doing so, you will be directed
to the page where you can see the list of running apps.

“Bookmarks”,” forward’, “Refresh” and more options.

Choose“More options”Once “more options “is chosen, you will be given a
list of available functionalities of the web browser. Here you will
have to select the option “Setting”.

Settings give you the various options for handling the
functionalities of your android set. You can also control the
browser settings from this very window. You can go through all
the options available in this window. You will have to keep on
scrolling down until you find the option to “accept cookies”.
When you reach to the option of “Accept cookies”, you just have
to check the box or select the radio button. When you select the
box, it will display a green color check mark which depicts that
the functionality has been accepted by the device. This will
enable the cookies for your hand set.
Should you wish to turn off the cookies at a later point then you
will have to run through the same steps mentioned above and
“un-check” the box in front of the text- This would disable cookies
acceptance. Please note that this just changes the cookies
behaviour on the local environment, i.e. your
handset. Additionally, if you wish to remove all forms data and
information stored by cookies you can select “clear all cookies
data”, this option is available in the menu of the “Accept cookies”
itself.

you closer to 'our favourite'
google!

and sergey brin, met first in
1995 at stanford university
when sergey was asked to

Android 4.4.2 Kitkat arrives on Google Nexus devices

Rolling out to the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10
SOFTWARE DEVELOPER Google has pushed out Android 4.4.2 Kitkat to its line of Nexus devices, despite having released Android 4.4.1 Kitkat just a few days ago.
Android 4.4.2 Kitkat reportedly has started appearing on the Nexus 4, Nexus 5 Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 devices, but we'd advise not getting too excited about the update yet.
According to the changelog, the update to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat delivers a fix for clearing the VM Indicator, a fix for delivery of the VM Indicator and various additional software fixes and security enhancements.
This uninspiring list could be because the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update reportedly arrives as a replacement for the Android 4.4.1 Kitkat update that Google put out on Friday. According to the US Sprint network forums, Google might have pulled the previous update, fixed some of the bugs and relaunched it.
That means that Nexus 5 users who have yet to update to Android 4.4.1 Kitkat are likely to welcome the software bump, as Google said that the update will fix issues with the Nexus 5's 8MP rear-facing camera, with users previously having reported problems with shutter lag and focus.
Whether or not it's a replacement update, Android 4.4.2 Kitkat should improve the camera with "faster focusing, especially in low light, faster white balancing, for truer colors, the ability to pinch-zoom the viewfinder in HDR+ mode and less shutter lag". The updated high dynamic range (HDR+) mode also has a new burst mode.
Google has yet to offer more details on the update. µ

whether

How to Install Android on Your iPhone 2G or 3G with iPhoDroid

iPhoDroid 1shot is probably the easiest way to install Android on your iPhone 2G or iPhone 3G. It doesn’t require any file editing or anything that might scared the least technically advanced of us. Without further ado, here are the instructions to set up Android on your iPhone. As usual, proceed at your own risks…

Step 1: Make sure your iPhone is jailbroken and Cydia is up to date. If it’s not jailbroken, do so by using JailbreakMe.

Step 2: Download the latest version of iPhoDroid 1 shot from here. The download link is at the very bottom left of the page.

Step 3: Make sure your iPhone is connected to your computer via the USB cable. Launch iPhoDroid and click “shoot”.

Step 4: iPhoDroid will extract the touch driver and transfer the cache/system/data folders to your iPhone.

Step 5: iPhoDroid will now place your iPhone in recovery mode.

Step 6: After that, you will get the OpeniBoot splash page with different options (Apple, Android, Install, Uninstall). Use the volume buttons to highlight the “Install” option, then tap the Home button to select it.

Step 7: Some code will then be running on your screen. Once done, your iPhone will reboot in the Android OS.

Done! You can now enjoy your crippled iPhone running Android.
