With so many trends going on, some women will do whatever it takes to
keep up with the latest trends but there are some trends that are
dangerous for your health. Don't worry... Here are four of the most
common trends to avoid and why...
1. Thick waist belts and corsets -
Anything that will hold in your tummy and put pressure on your internal
organs can lead to multiple digestive issues such as heartburn and weak
bladder control. To prevent this from happening to you wear thin,
waist-slimming belts and only wear shapewear such as
Spanx on special occasions.
2. Oversized purses
Wearing a huge purse every day can lead to speedy inflammation and wear
of the shoulder joint. It can also lead to to imbalanced back muscles
and a slanted, disfigured posture. So, if you must follow the trend of
oversized bags, try to keep it light (under 10lbs). This will not put
pressure on the joints especially if your switch shoulders often.
3. High heels
Yes they make your legs look longer, leaner and oh so good but these
shoes throw a womans body completely out of balance. The lack of
structure and support can cause the achilles tendon to inflame and calf
to tighten. If you must wear heels, be sure to stretch out your calves
and try to wear shoes that are not too tight. It's okay to wear high
heels on occasion, just avoid wearing them every day.
4. Skinny jeans
Skinny jeans place unneeded pressure on vital spinal nerves. They can
clamp down the lateral femoral nerve that can lead to a tingly numb
feeling known as meralgia paresthetica compression. To prevent this from
happening, wear mid-rise jeans with with a slight stretch so that way
there isn't too much pressure on the abdomen. Wearing pants made from
breathable material such as cotton or linen can also avoid yeast and
fungal infections.
After reading all this, fear not. You don't have to give up on your
fashion sense to care more about your health. Take the proper
precautions and you can strut your stuff down any runway or sidewalk.
